Tel Aviv: Sunsets and City Streets

The seafront at sunset, the city from up high, and one morning down the coast at the port. The city days of that window, kept in the order they happened.

28 to 30 June 2022

A selfie of a woman with dark curly hair and dark glasses in front of a glass wall, with a sandy beach, a promenade road and the sea behind her.

The city days of that window, in the order they happened. The seafront at sunset first, then a morning down the coast, then back for the last of it.

First afternoon, out on the seafront. Beach below, promenade, and the sea all the way out.

Then that evening, from up high. The whole seafront at once: towers, roads, and the beach running along the water.

A view down over a seafront in golden evening light, a tall tower with a rooftop sign in the middle, roads and pavements below, and the beach and the sea curving away on the right.

Down at the railing while the sun went down.

A selfie of a woman leaning on a wooden railing at sunset, the sun low over the water behind her and a breakwater with a small structure at the end of it.

Then just the sun, going into the sea.

The sun setting low over the sea, with scrubby beach plants across the foreground and long lines of swell coming in.

After dark, a bar with the bottles lit up along the whole wall.

A bar's back wall at night, shelves and shelves of bottles lit from below, round pendant lights above and a dark counter in front.

Same bar, the long way around.

A wide view along a bar's lit shelves, rows of bottles on every level above a counter with glasses, taps and bottles set out along it.

Next day, up high again. The beach with its umbrellas, the marina behind the breakwater, and the road along the front.

A beach from above on a bright afternoon, rows of sun umbrellas on the sand, a marina full of boats behind a breakwater, and a road along the seafront.

The city from the same window. Rooftops, traffic, towers, all of it at once.

A city from above in daylight, rooftops and streets packed together, traffic on the road below and towers out to the horizon.

That night, dinner under a red light.

A plate of food on a table under red light, with sliced orange and greens on it and a second plate behind.

Ashdod, the next morning. Down the coast to the port first thing. Inside, a room with the whole port laid out as a model, and a screen along the wall behind it.

A dark room with a large scale model of a port spread across a table and a big screen behind it showing the port's own emblem and name.

The same room from the other side.

The same port model seen from the other side, a screen above it showing a map, and a person in a dark shirt standing at the right with both hands raised.

Back in the city that afternoon.

A burger on a white plate on a white table, close up, with cheese and onions coming out over the side.

And dinner again that night.

A plate with a breaded cutlet, roasted sprouts, tomatoes, salmon and mashed potato on it, a glass of orange juice behind and cutlery on the table.

On the walk back along the promenade, a cat sitting under the beach library box.

A cat sitting on the paving under a white box on a promenade at night, the box lettered BEACH LIBRARY with a line of smaller text under it.

Sunsets on the seafront, the city from up high, food at the end of the night, and one morning down the coast.

Every photograph in this one is mine, from those days. The city pages live under Cities.
